Season's Greetings from All at Natresco

cartoon.xmastree.jpg Our wish for you where ever you are is that you have a blessed Christmas full of family time and good cheer. During this season of joy, never forget how lucky you are and find it in yourself to reach out to those less fortunate than you are. In closing, before you deck your tree with tinsel and place gifts under the tree, consider getting a root-balled tree this year and next.

Projects

We have been engaged by more than 80 clients since inception in January of 2006. Our projects have included routine maintenance, design-build, and restoration projects. Many of our initial maintenance contracts have been renewed for longer terms - we have satisfied customers, who want us back for an extended period. I am proud of my staff for the faith that our clients have put in us. We are aiming even higher for 2008 and beyond.

Examples of two of our projects are included here (follow this pdf link NLS.Projects.pdf).

History

Natresco Landscape Services, Ltd. evolved in response to a demand for quality landscaping at an affordable price. We started out as Division of Natresco & Associates, Ltd., ( Natresco.pdf) an environmental and natural resources company that specializes in the use of vegetation across the environmental landscape. In January 1, 2006, Natresco Landscape Services came into being on its own. Since then, we have grown steadily to include a full range of landscaping services, including commercial and residential maintenance, hardscaping, and a full service tree company ( Natresco Tree Company).

Locations

In response to a demand for our services across the US, we have opened offices in four locations. This enables us to serve local and regional clients in a timely and cost-effective manner. Offices are located as follows:

  • Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania: This is the headquarters of our eastern US operations and houses most of our technical landscaping expertise.
  • Schenectady, New York: We have a field office located at a GE Energy facility where we have developed a program to restore the ecological form and function of former industrial landfills.
  • Lansing, Michigan: Natresco has a vegetation production facility and regional office on recovering farm lands near Lansing.
  • Stansbury Park, Utah: In response to a need for physicians in rural Utah, our President's wife opened a clinic in the high desert west of Salt lake City. As any good husband would, he followed her out there!

In the News....

Winter Updates:

It is now time to "put your hay in the barn", figuratively that is, for all summer projects. Where bushes or shrubs need to be cut back, or coppiced, now is the time. Winter hardening has taken place, and dormancy set in (after that run of cold (brrrrrr) weather. Coppicing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coppicing) is a traditional method for cutting woody vegetation down at the base of the stem. This promotes the healthy growth of multiple stems the subsequent growing season. Another timely task is to plan any spring planting projects. Sketch out your garden improvements, and let Natresco do the rest! We will provide a detailed layout with cost estimates for a variety of plantings. Also good winter time use, is to consider where you want to add wildlife feeders - watch the animals from a cosy nook inside your house. Notice where they feed (birds and squirrels) and consider adding feeders and watering stations throughout your gardens.

For those color nuts among you, Natresco has a color designer for residential gardens. We can assist in ensruing that your garden foliage is always colorful and that it meets your expectations, be it for a summer barbeque or summer wedding!

Good luck and happy runimating - spring is just around the corner.
